"This is truly a valuable resource. It is so difficult to suggest nature/science curriculum for pre-service and experienced teachers, alike. This is the ultimate example of content integration with creative and critical thinking, while engaging and addressing the needs of all children... an amazing package all in one! Its overall layout is clear and well organized. The alignment with developmentally appropriate practices is revealed in each and every section of each unit -- what a great way to support and encourage all early childhood educators to include nature in many ways."

"The Illinois Head Start Association greatly enjoyed the Growing Up WILD training that the Council for Environmental Education provided to our Education Staff Directors at no charge to us. At a time when children are so disconnected from nature and the outdoors, this educationally enriching program was the right choice at the right time. Growing Up WILD encourages hands –on learning and lots of movement and exploration while building on essential Head Start Domains. The activity guide is leader friendly, bright and colorful with loads of ideas for centers, math connections, vocabulary and music and movement. A wonderful introduction to using nature to teach our kids!"
- Lauri Morrison-Frichtl, Illinois Head Start Association
"The Project WILD activities are wonderful for getting children to clearly understand the concepts related to how living things interact. I have used this program with children in kindergarten to adults. In the first 12 years of my teaching I taught kindergarten and had to adapt many of the WILD activities to meet their needs. The Growing Up WILD guide was an answer to my prayer. If you want most teachers to use the materials, you have to give them the complete package. You did that with Growing Up WILD! It is a gem and I have received nothing but praises from the preschool and primary grade teachers I have provided training to for the guide. "
